How to “Work” an Agency!
August 27, 2008

by Liz Enns, Recruitment Consultant

WHY AREN’T THEY CALLING??

Have you sent off your resume to a recruiting firm and not had a call back?  Have you gone for an interview and feel like you’ve been forgotten?

WHY IS THAT?

Our clients have hired us with a very specific set of needs and expectations and with numerous searches and clients on the go, things can get rather hectic.

We need to find the best possible candidates for a particular role and sometimes we have additional information that we need to consider. Unfortunately, depending on your background, that may eliminate you from the process. That doesn’t mean that you are not an excellent candidate, but maybe not for this particular job.  It is important to remember that our clients have hired us to recruit specifically for certain positions, those are the ones we need to concentrate on.

If a recruiter is putting you forward for a role you should absolutely get a follow up call.  However, things move very fast in our world and sometimes phone calls are missed.

WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT IT?

It’s not a perfect science and everyone is busy so why not work together to keep the lines of communication open and find you a great job!

  1. If you have not had a response there could be many reasons for it, don’t take it personally but do keep trying.  Give us a quick follow-up call.
  2. Attend an Angus One Open House to ensure you get a face to face meeting
  3. Review our website, find a position that you are interested in and apply by sending in your resume and always include the reference code.  That will give us a good idea of what you are looking for
  4. DON’T GIVE UP

We look forward to seeing you in our offices soon!
